Prince George's Philharmonic Artist Internship

The University of Maryland School of Music is pleased to announce that violinist Calvin Liu, student of Irina Muresanu, is the recipient of the internship to perform with the Prince George’s Philharmonic. The internship is sponsored by the Riverdale Park Arts Council. As part of this program he will participate in the Prince George’s Philharmonic’s end of the year concert honoring NASA’s anniversary on May 18th, 2019.  Mr. Liu was chosen by a committee consisting of Robert DiLutis, SOM Community Engagement Director, Rita Sloan and the administrators of the Prince George’s Philharmonic. Mr. Liu is a sophomore, studying for a Bachelor of Music in violin performance and a Bachelor of Science in cell biology. He has participated in the University of Maryland Symphony Orchestra as well as its Chamber Ensemble program and hopes to pursue a career in violin. Mr. Liu attended the Aspen Music Festival and School in 2017 and graduated from Montgomery Blair High School's Magnet Program in 2017. He currently lives in Silver Spring.
