The S.H.A.R.P. Program

Welcome to the fifth year of the S.H.A.R.P. Program (Students Harnessing Academic Readiness through Performance). S.H.A.R.P. Program is a joint collaboration of the University of Maryland School of Music, College Park, and local public and private schools including College Park Academy, Buck Lodge Middle School, William Wirt Middle School, Cherokee Elementary, Paint Branch and Orem Middle School. As part of the program, elementary and middle school age music students have the opportunity to work in partnership with University of Maryland Music Students in a series of private lessons, group music classes, and a host of performances. The S.H.A.R.P. program has received local and state recognition for its creativity and generosity to young disadvantaged minority students in our region.
